About Me

About Me

My name is Hester. I have created a warm and compassionate space where you are encouraged to let go of tension and find new, easier ways to navigate life.

In my practice I bring together my personal experiences, 20 years Nursing experience, 3 year Alexander Technique training and 10 years Alexander Technique teacher experience to help you find a solution to your problem.

Having worked in ‘health’ for my whole career and experienced serious health issues myself, I have knowledge of how the system works and what it can be like to both work in it and have to navigate it as a patient.

My emphasis is on balance, rediscovering the body’s natural function and always being understanding and kind to yourself, as well as maintaining curiosity and a sense of humour.

I have found so much joy in the Alexander Technique. I really cannot imagine my life without it. It has meant that I am able to be present, particularly as a parent. I have so much more confidence and choice than I had before I began lessons back in the early 2010s.

From the outside it’s easy to assume that I was born calm but that’s not the case. I have developed the skills of the Alexander Technique to give myself time, notice my reactions, and choose my behaviours.

My Qualifications: CPD training in Healing the Shadow with, Marianne Hill, Alexander Technique Training, English BA, Nursing Diploma,

My Ethos and Values

ALL bodies and minds have the capacity to achieve more freedom of movement, presence, safety and joy.

It is your birthright to live in balance and coordination. We only get one life and we all deserve to live it in balance and ease.

Uncertainty and flux are inevitable. We can learn to live better with change and the unknown when our nervous system is calm and healthy.

Being open-minded is essential and so is having clear boundaries.

Confidence comes from self awareness and self acceptance.

Getting help is not a weakness, it’s often a way of taking responsibility.

ALL bodies are good bodies.
