You may have been through the medical system, be looking for a solution to something you have been living with for a long time or have come to a stage where you want to stop taking your body for granted.
Our bodies have a wonderful design but we often ignore them or interfere with tension and holding, which usually begins as a response to the environment and then becomes an unconscious pattern. Factors could include a demanding schedule, emotional trauma or pressure to perform. There are many stresses that cause tension.
You don’t need more repetitive exercises or to build one particular muscle or group of muscles or to lose weight. You are already trying really hard, you don’t need to try harder. You need to re-learn how to use your whole body in the way that it was designed to work.
I work with your personal reaction patterns and behaviours to release tension and get you moving in a way that doesn’t interfere with your potential.

Alexander Technique sessions
In a session we practice everyday movements such as sitting, standing and lying down, which are the building blocks of most movement. Through gentle hands-on you will be guided to use your body in a way that utilises the body’s natural design.
The Alexander Technique works on your nervous system and you tend to feel extremely relaxed in the sessions. You learn what it can be like when you stop tensing and holding and let the body’s natural poise take over. You stand taller, breathing becomes easier and you feel clear headed and calm. Curiosity takes the place of excess effort.
Sessions teach skills for you to take into your own life and make your own. You will find that life becomes easier and things that would make you shaky or tense no longer do so.
